About Dave
Welcome To My Official Blog!
Hello Everyone! My name is Dave Anderson and I am a Network Marketer who is passionate about combining traditional home-based business and networking strategies with cutting edge technology and internet marketing. On this blog you will find a variety of content: everything from blogging, social media and list building strategies, to some of my own ideas about leadership, effective communication, sales psychology, personal development and team building. I believe that we all have the potential to achieve anything that we desire in life, but that in order to do so, we need to invest our time, energy, and sometimes our money, to help us grow to a place where we can accomplish anything we wish to.
It is my sincere hope that this blog helps to inspire you to start living your life to your full potential. Ultimately, I believe that we all deserve true freedom. I challenge you to figure out what this means for you and focus yourself towards it every day.
About me …
I grew up in the lovely Mississauga, Ontario (just west of Toronto, Canada) in a family of five – two extremely supportive parents, and two rock star sisters. My parents are both music educators and much of what I know and believe about leadership comes directly from them. My older sister, Catherine, has Down Syndrome and had taught me so much about patience, support, and staying open to people. I am so grateful for my family and attribute almost all of my success so far in life to their love and support.
My parents also gave me tons of opportunity to explore all sorts of hobbies and activities growing up. I played the violin, the piano, and the trumpet, I studied Scottish dancing, I sang in choirs and played baseball, basketball and volleyball competitively. All of these activities have helped me to develop skill sets and competencies that make me who I am today, and I am truly thankful for all of these opportunities.
How I came across (and became passionate about) Home-Based Business?
Since I was about 12 years old, there’s been a part of me with a fiery entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for sales and marketing. In the 7th Grade as the ‘Chief Adviser’ of my school’s student council, I created a business proposal to pitch to the Administration of my school in order to get vending machines put in the school. I got really passionate about the idea, got the student body all fired up about it through my election campaign and was ultimately successful. By the time I left the school, we had vending machines of all sorts.
In the 10th grade I came up with what I thought was THE BEST Strawberry Smoothie Recipe in the history of Strawberry Smoothies. I came up with a system that could be duplicated to make a consistently delicious smoothie, and rounded up a few of my best friends to help me sell it at a local ‘Strawberry Festival’ during the month of June. It was a rockin’ time … very hot, and only a little bit profitable.
I was also big into making movies with my friends in high school. One of the things we loved to do was come up with ideas for great commercials. I loved to think of ways to sell things. I can still remember one concept we came up with for a potential commercial for MSN Messenger (brand new and HOT at the time). It involved me yelling out my bedroom window through a megaphone at my friend who was in his bedroom in the next house over. I’ll leave it to you to figure that one out.
Needless to say, I’ve always been interested in owning my own business.
Then came Network Marketing …
So in June of 2006 my dad and I were struggling with some health issues and a close friend approached us with some products that he felt would really help us out. I’ll shorten this story a bunch since you can likely figure out where it’s going.
Ultimately, we both loved the products, shared them with our closest friends and family, I dug a little deeper and found … you guessed it … Network Marketing and the Home-Based Business Industry.
Dorm Room Cold Calling???
I haven’t mentioned this yet, but I after high school I went on to study Classical Music at University (I’m a singer). Now don’t get me wrong … I was a decent student. Did my work, practiced, partied, slept (sometimes) … but there were many times in University when I’d put off all of this stuff to cold call opportunity leads for my newly found dorm-based business that I’d purchased online.
Then one night I stumbled upon this guy … you may have heard of him … Mike Dillard??? I’m assuming that many of you are already more than familiar with his stuff, but if you aren’t, you want to leave my blog ASAP and go here.
I was TOTALLY sucked in by his stuff and have been fascinated by the ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES that the Internet has to offer ever since then.
Infinite Learning Curve and My Passion for Personal Growth…
So I finished school, got my degree, I still perform (and teach voice) regularly, and I put many of the skills developed through my study of music to use every single day. If you’re open, Music and Art in any form, can teach so much about emotions, people, leadership, repetition, growth, discipline and being human. I owe so much of who I am today to my study of music.
If you’ve ever studied an instrument, or worked at an art form, you’ll know that in art, you never arrive. You’re always striving for more – there is no perfection. And that is what I have come to love about the Home-Based Business Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Internet Marketing. The learning curve is endless.
And while for a 23-year-old I’ve built a respectable business over the past 3 years and enjoy passive income, it’s only been in the past year that I’ve started to figure out how to really build my business.
And my objective right here on this blog, is to give you as much information as I possibly can about the stuff I’ve learned over the past 3 years. My goal is for you to receive value each time you visit my site.
I hope that after reading this you feel like you’ve gotten to know me just a little better. And it is my sincere hope to connect on a more personal level with you in the not-to-distant future.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email with any questions, ideas, feedback etc … I love to talk.
Until then, have an incredible day, week, month and year. You absolutely deserve it.
Sincerely,
Dave Anderson
